The month of 'Decision' - 1 Timothy 6:1-21

Psalm 25:12, “Who are those who fear the LORD? He will show them the path they should choose.” The Bible says that, if you “fear the Lord”, He will guide You through life. To fear the Lord means to respect Him enough to obey Him. And when You seek and follow Him, He will lead you the place and opportunities where you can best serve Him and other people. If you want to make good decisions, first decide to obey God, then you will know that you are going in the right direction with your other decisions. Decision is defined by the Oxford dictionary as, A conclusion or resolution reached after consideration. The action or process of deciding something or of resolving a question. The ability or tendency to make decisions quickly, decisiveness. The base word of decision has Latin roots, which is from the Latin word Decidere, which is a combination of 2 words: de – off = caedere = cut. Decide – to cut off everything but what’s most important. I sincerely believe the Lord is calling our attention to decide what will be most important to you in 2022. There is a call for wholehearted commitment. Prophet Joel described multitude waiting in the “valley of decision.” Billions of people have lived on earth, most dead and living and yet to be born again, will face judgement (Joel 3: 2; 12). Look around you, see your friends, those with whom you work and live. Have they received God’s forgiveness? Are they warned about sins consequences?

Surely, if we understand the severity of God’s final judgement, we will want to take God’s offer of hope to those we know, then, we can be secure in His love and trust Him to guide our decisions. It is written, “Today, I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses – Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh that, you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live. You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying Him and committing yourself firmly to Him. This is the key to Your life and in the land the Lord swore to give Your ancestors Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” (Deut 30:19-20) – Moses challenged Israel, as I am doing now to choose life, to obey God and therefore to continue to experience His blessings. Remember God doesn’t force His will on anyone, He lets us decide whether to follow Him or reject Him. This decision, however, is a life-or-death matter. God wants us to realise this, for he would like us all to choose life daily, in each new situation we must affirm and reinforce this commitment. 1 Kings 18:30 says, “then Elijah called to the people, come over here! They all crowded around Him as he repaired the altar of the Lord that, had been torn down”. This is one of the ways we show commitment to rebuild our personal, family and church prayer altar. In Mark 1;35-37 says, “ You want to make and be in demand follow Jesus’ example as confirmed by the scripture in Psalm 18:30 (MSG), I decree and declare A Happy New Year 2022 “Asking for a tablet, Zachariah wrote, “His name is to be John” that took everyone by surprise. Surprise followed surprise - Zachariah’s mouth was now open, his tongue loosed and he was talking, praising God.” I welcome you into the Year of divine surprises – (Luke 1:63-64). I look forward to receiving your mouth-watering testimonies to the glory of God and shame to the devil and all the blessings shall be ours, in Jesus mighty name – Amen.
